Prepared pickup can reduce carrying work, but only when the material is safe to handle, contained, and placed where the hauler approves. Start by confirming that the tub is drained and that permanent utilities have been disconnected by the appropriate qualified provider.
Confirm the pickup format first
Do not cut or move the spa to the curb until the hauler confirms what it will accept. Some jobs are quoted as full-service removal; others may allow a prepared load. The preparation standard, included materials, and price basis can differ.
Keep pieces manageable and contained
Loose sharp fragments, exposed fasteners, wet insulation, and unsecured equipment can create handling problems. Ask how shell sections, cabinet boards, covers, pumps, and hardware should be grouped. Keep chemicals and prohibited materials separate.
Leave a usable loading zone
The approved staging point should not block sidewalks, traffic, mailboxes, hydrants, or neighboring access. Show the distance from the material to the trailer position and note any slope, soft ground, stairs, or parking restrictions.
Photo checklist before pickup
Send a wide image of the full load, a closer image showing piece size and condition, the path to the trailer, and the available parking space. State whether anyone will be present and whether a gate or door must be opened.
